How do I install an SSL certificate on a domain?
HostMantis offers free SSL certificates with all our shared and reseller hosting plans!
Note: Any domain you choose to install an SSL certificate for must already properly resolve to the server and have had time to propagate fully. It is recommended you use our nameservers or custom nameservers local to the server to ensure the proper DNS records exist in order to install an SSL certificate. The use of external DNS, such as Cloudflare is not recommended.
cPanel:
On our cPanel servers we use AutoSSL, which automatically installs SSL certificates daily for domains with valid DNS that properly resolve to the server and typically requires no user intervention.
If you find a certificate not renewing or need to manually create/renew a certificate, please use the following manual SSL functions.
cPanel Manual SSL Functions:
To manually uninstall an old certificate in cPanel: Security --> SSL/TLS --> Manage SSL Hosts
Find the expired certificate and click "Uninstall" from Actions
To run AutoSSL manually in cPanel go to: Security --> SSL/TLS Status
Click the "Run AutoSSL" button.
DirectAdmin:
In your DirectAdmin control panel, choose the domain name to work with in the top right. Then find the "SSL Certificates" icon. Click it and then click the "Free & automatic certificate from Let's Encrypt" tab.
From there you can create free SSL certificates for the valid domain names in your account.
